- You may notice that this documentation file is fairly short. The reason is
- that the program really doesn't need any documentation. You start the program
- by typing PAINTER and pressing Enter. That's about all you need to know.
-
- When you get past the registration screen, you are given a picture to play
- with. You can change the colors in this picture, go to the next or last
- picture, erase the colors in the current picture, or exit the program.
-
- If you choose to change the colors in the current picture, put the mouse
- pointer on the color of your choice and press the left mouse button. The
- current painting color will appear in the box at the bottom left of the screen.
- You can then paint any area of the picture you want. The only exception is
- that you cannot paint areas of the screen that are black.
-
- If you want to start over and erase all the colors in the current picture,
- click on the Erase box with the left mouse button and the picture will lose all
- of its color.
-
- When you are finished with the current picture, you can select another picture
- or exit the program. To select the next picture, click on the Next box with
- the left mouse button. To select the last or previous picture, click on the
- Last box with the left mouse button.
-
- This version of the program comes with 10 pictures that I have taken the
- liberty of pre-coloring. Do not let my lack of taste discourage you, these
- pictures can have any colors you want. Remember, to instantly clear away all
- of the colors, just click on the Erase box with the left mouse button.
-
- It is important to remember that the program saves the current colors whenever
- you select another picture or exit the program.
-
- To exit the program, click on the Bye! box with the left mouse button. You
- will then be taken back to DOS if you have registered the program. If you
- have not registered the program, you will be given a registration form that you
- can print out.
-
- If you choose to register the program, you will receive a disk with 25 new
- pictures to paint. In addition, you will no longer have to press a random key
- to start the program, and there will be no registration form at the end.
-
- I hope you have fun with this. The program has no real tangible use, but kids
- like it, and it gives you something interesting to do.
